Denmead Neighbourhood Plan Update

During the consultation, members of the public have echoed Council’s concern that individuals who could potentially benefit financially from a decision to designate land for development are involved in the development of the Neighbourhood Plan.

The Parish Council met with Winchester City Council and they advised that they shared those concerns.

In addition to this, members of the public have provided information that Steering Group were not made aware of in that 1) DE30 – there is an agricultural tie on land at Lincoln Green and 2) DE40 – the land off Thompsons Lane [formerly known as Parklands] was subject to refusal of planning permission and refusal on appeal by the Planning Inspectorate and also the subject of an unsuccessful High Court action.

With immediate effect, the Parish Council has written to those members with a financial interest to advise that they will no longer be part of the Steering Group.

As a result, the Steering Group needs to recruit new members to help in developing the policies that will shape our village for the future.
