The 1st Denmead Scout Group is part of the Waterlooville Scout District which is Part of Hampshire County. The Denmead Group is a large group of over 135 Members. It has one Beaver Colony, two Cub Scout Packs, a large Scout Troop, a thriving Explorer Section and one of the best HQs in the area (well we think so!). The Group is supported by an active Executive Committee, many parents of existing and past members, local businesses and has an excellent relationship with the Denmead Parish Council.

Carers across Hampshire can get out of hours support on the new carers’ helpline which is provided by the County Council and replaces the old Carers Helpline number. You will be able to access information and advice on local resources and services including benefits and carers’ rights. Carers will also be able to have their emergency contact details updated on their electronic file, a referral taken for a Carers’ Assessment and/or review forwarded to the area office.

Formerly the ‘Old School’ this attractive old brick and traditional flint building is easily found on School Lane, just before leaving the Village towards Hambledon. The Centre provides for the social, recreational and educational needs of the local area of benefit. In addition, it hosts over 35 different clubs and societies as well as hiring out rooms, facilities and equipment.

Denmead Cricket Club was founded in 1990 and the Club’s headquarters is the KGV playing fields. The Club is always on the lookout for new players.

Meeting held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except December which is the 2nd Wednesday) at the Memorial Hall at 19:30pm. There is a varied & interesting programme of speakers who offer a warm & friendly welcome. Visitors may attend 3 meetings for free before joining.
Denmead Football Club was founded in the 1930s and provides the local community with access to qualified and structured training and matches. The Club’s headquarters is the KGV playing fields. It is possibly the largest voluntary group in the village with 19 teams ranging from the Under 5’s academy squad to the Veterans Team comprising over 250 registered players.
The youth section is the backbone of the Club with teams competing in the Portsmouth Youth Football League from U6 to U16. The Club’s Saturday Adult team currently play in the Hampshire Premier League and is pushing for further promotion. The Club has grown significantly over recent years, has become highly successful and is at the heart of the Denmead community. The Club is run by an active Executive Committee and approximately 30 qualified coaches and is supported by all the parents. The Club is always looking for sponsorship so if any local business is interested, please make contact.

The Denmead Striders Running Club was formed in 1989 and caters for runners of all abilities over the age of 18. We always welcome newcomers to the club, whether experienced runners or those just trying out the wonderful sport of running. Our membership is around 100, which enables everyone to know each other. Membership is £15 per year.

In 1994, the village twinned with Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux near Poitiers in the Poitou-Charentes department in western France. The DTA hold regular social events in the village. Every two years families from Denmead visit St Georges and the following year the French families come to Denmead.

The Ville Bowmen was established in 1973. We shoot outdoors from April to September at Kidmore Field and during the winter months, we shoot indoors at The Memorial Hall, Hambledon Road. We hold beginners courses (6 weeks) every year, usually during May.
